Chess festival continues in Baku

The first international chess festival dedicated to Independence Day of Azerbaijan contuse in Baku with sponsorship from the Ganbarov Charity Fund. 5 of 9 matches have been played in the C and D tournaments held at the Central Chess Club, Trend reports.

Magalashvili, a Georgian chess player, as well as well as Ukrainian and Uzbek grand masters, Andreyev and Safin, lead in the C tournament with 4.5 of 5 maximal points. Then follow five grand masters with 4.0 points, including two Azerbaijani sportsmen Husseynov and Babayev.

The matches in A and B tournaments will start on 1 November.
