On February 6th and 7th the next meeting of the expert group on the revision of the project on Convention of Legal Status of Labor Migrants and Members of Their Families of CIS participating countries takes place in the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Minsk, Trend reports quoting the CIS Executive Committee.
The previously prepared project on the Convention had been considered at the meeting of the Consultation Council on Labor, Migration and Social Protection of Population of the CIS member-countries held on December 12th 2006 in Moscow. As a result of the discussions, it was decided to empower the CIS Executive Committee to organize a revision of the project on the Convention by taking into consideration the opinions of the sides. The meeting of the expert group will be attended by Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldavia, Russia, as well as representatives of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of CIS member-countries and General Confederation of Trade Unions.
