Uzbekistan to annually hold int'l textile exhibition

Uzbek Foreign Ministry and Uztextileprom Association will take measures to hold an international exhibition of textile and fashion industry in the country at least once a year, Trend reports with reference to a decree of the Uzbek president.

The document says that the country plans to include in developing agreements the issue of reducing customs duties on domestic textiles with the EU, Turkey, Korea, China and other countries.

Tashkent intends to include the exhibition in the world calendar of textile events.

A single website of textile, garment and knitwear industry will be launched in Uzbekistan within three months.

The website will place an interactive map of Uzbekistan indicating the location of manufacturers of textile, garment and knitting products and suppliers of relevant services and materials.
