Azerbaijan simplifies access of local entrepreneurs to foreign markets

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept.13

By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:

The startup certificates issued to entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan will increase the investment attractiveness of various innovative projects and simplify access to foreign markets, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of Azerbaijan told Trend.

According to the SME Agency, since early 2021, the startup certificates were handed over to 14 entrepreneurs who are working on projects in the fields of agriculture, financial technologies, logistics services, online insurance, and the production of network hardware.

“The presence of this certificate exempts the entrepreneur from paying tax for income for the period of 3 years. This provides an opportunity to use funds for the development of a business project. Moreover, this leads to an increase of investment attractiveness of the project and simplification of access to foreign markets,” the message of the agency said.

The message also reads that entrepreneurs continue to apply for receiving startup certificates.

“Every month, the SME Agency is conducting a meeting of the expert council to assess the received projects and possibilities to issue the relevant certificate to the entrepreneurs,” the message added.
