BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 13. Azerbaijan’s industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs produced industrial products worth 20.6 billion manat ($12.1 billion) in 1Q2022, which is 3.9 percent more than in the same period in 2021, Trend reports referring to the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to the committee, production in the oil and gas sector increased by 1.1 percent, in the non-oil sector - by 18.1 percent from January through March 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.

At the same time, 73.7 percent of industrial production fell on the mining sector, 21.6 percent - on the manufacturing sector, 4.2 percent - on the production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 0.5 percent - on the water supply, purification and waste processing.

Commercial oil production in Azerbaijan in 1Q2022 decreased by 5.4 percent and commercial gas production increased by 16.4 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

“The growth in the production of building materials in the processing industry amounted to 83.8 percent, pharmaceuticals - 67.4 percent, tobacco products - 4.5 percent, paper and cardboard - 26.5 percent, in the chemical industry - 69.1 percent, clothing - 50 .2 percent,” committee said.

The growth in the production of cars, trailers and semi-trailers in the processing industry amounted to 2.3 times, electrical equipment - by 2.1 times, printing products - by 25.2 percent, machinery and spare parts - by 23 percent, oil products - by 16.2 percent, finished metal products - 15.2 percent, metallurgical products - 34.9 percent, rubber and plastic products - 27.3 percent, food products - 9.4 percent, computer and optical products - 4.1 percent, lumber and products from them - 5, 4 percent, the committee added.

According to the State Statistical Committee, production in the textile industry decreased by 10.1 percent, drinks - by 20 percent, and leather and leather products - by 21.6 percent from January through March 2022 compared to the same period last year.

The volume of production in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam increased by 2.2 percent and in the sector of water supply, waste treatment and recycling - by 10.2 percent from January through March 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.
