BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 7. The largest exports of Azerbaijan's non-oil products from January through August 2022 fell on the joint agricultural and agro-industrial exports, Trend reports citing the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication of Azerbaijan.
According to the center, the export value of agricultural and agro-industrial products amounted to $537.8 million, up by 13.1 percent compared to the same period of 2021.
The value-added agro-industrial products, occupying a significant place among non-oil exports, increased by 9 percent compared to January through August 2021.
In the reporting period of 2022, fruit and nut exports reached $227.7 million (a growth of 25.1 percent), while vegetable exports amounted to $180.5 million.
The export value of vegetable oils and animal fats edged up by 8.4 percent, amounting to $20.9 million.
Tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes accounted for 3.4 percent of all agricultural exports. Their export costs equaled $15 million, growing by 2.7 times against the corresponding period last year.
A total of 8.6 percent of agro-industrial exports fell on tea exports. Their export value has risen by 53.9 percent, up to $8.5 million.
Thus, Azerbaijan's non-oil exports made up $1.9 billion in the first eight months of 2022, increasing by 19 percent compared to the same period of 2021.
Thereat, the overall exports of Azerbaijan amounted to $26.2 billion from January through August 2022.
