BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 5. Azerbaijan exported hazelnuts worth $62 million from January through July 2023, Trend reports.
According to the data from the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan, hazelnut exports in monetary terms increased by $4 million or 8 percent year-on-year ($57 million).
In 2022 Azerbaijan exported hazelnuts worth $106 million, which is $2 million or 2 percent less over year.
According to the State Customs Service of Azerbaijan, the country exported 21,860 tons of hazelnuts in 2022.
Moreover, according to the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council's data for the 2022/2023 season, Azerbaijan ranks 4th among the world's hazelnut producers. Azerbaijan produced 24,000 tons of peeled hazelnuts during this period.
