The Caspian-European Construction Club held (October 18) the second session on the subject of "Prospects and development of construction industry of the region" in Baku within the framework of BakuBuild exhibition.

The session of one of the branch clubs of the Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC) was held under the organizational support of Iteca Caspian LLC

Prospects of development of construction sector in Azerbaijan and the region as a whole were discussed at the session held in Baku Expo Center. Besides, honorary guests listened (in the format of business forum) to problems and proposals of companies engaged in the construction sector.

While opening the session, Telman Aliyev, President and Chief Executive Officer of CEIBC, congratulated forum participants on the occasion of the Independence Day of Azerbaijan (October 18).

Participating in the event were official representatives of government institutions and diplomatic representations, in particular, Jahangir Gojayev, Head of the International Relations and Information Department of the State Committee of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tehran Isgandarov, Senior Adviser of the Department for Control over Quality of Construction Materials and Machine Building Products of the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan, Nazim Majidov, Deputy Director of the Department of the Seafront Boulevard under the Cabinet of Ministers, Teimuraz Sharashenidze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Azerbaijan, Arjen Uijterlinde, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Azerbaijan, and Samira Teymurova, Manager of the BakuBuild project.

Construction companies of the Caspian-Black Sea and Baltic region countries, CEIBC member companies and the participants of the 18th international construction exhibition BakuBuild-2012 also took part in the event.

Representatives of government institutions who gave speeches during the session spoke about activities they conduct and about the way these activities promote further development of construction sector of Azerbaijan. They also answered questions that interested construction companies.

Construction sector's being a broad sphere of economy and the necessity of conduction of such sessions at least each quarter were emphasized during the session.

The session participants were informed about the development of urban planning in the country over the past 20 years. Contribution of the session of the Caspian-European Construction Club and BakuBuild exhibition to dynamic development of urban planning in Azerbaijan was emphasized.

In his speech President and CEO of CEIBC Telman Aliyev thanked Iteca Caspian LLC for the support in organization of such event. He presented information about CEIBC, spoke about objectives of the Club. According to him, CEIBC was established in June 2002 under active participation of the Caspian Energy International Media Group and biggest oil-gas companies operating in the Caspian-Black Sea region. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been an honorary chairman of CEIBC since 2002.

According to Telman Aliyev, CEIBC has been promoting drawing of oil revenues for the development of the non oil sector since its establishment.

CEIBC operates in 50 countries worldwide, performs active work in the direction of dialogue maintenance between government institutions and private sector. Branch clubs operate within the framework of CEIBC. Caspian-European Construction Club which brings problems of the construction sector to the attention of government institutions is one of the active participants of CEIBC.

Certificates to new CEIBC member-companies were given at the session. A number of construction companies made presentations.
