In January-May 2018, the volume of meat production in Kazakhstan amounted to 107,703 tons, 8.5 percent more than in the same period of 2017, the Committee for Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan said in a message.
Production of milk in Kazakhstan amounted to 221,425 tons in the period (13.8 percent more year-over-year), flour – 1.8 million tons (20.2 percent more year-over-year), bread – 316,475 tons (6.6 percent more year-over-year), cereals - 34,466 tons (28.3 percent more year-over-year).
Kazakhstan reached self-sufficiency in beef and lamb supplies and now seeks to increase the export of meat by increasing the number of livestock.
Previously, the country also signed relevant agreements with China on export of frozen beef.
