Agro Bio Eco Tech, a large Azerbaijani organic fertilizer producer, plans to increase production, the company’s president, Ali Alizade, told Trend on Nov. 8.
Presently, the production is about 500-800 tons per year, but in 2019, it is planned to increase this volume to 2,000 tons per year, Alizade said.
He noted that an increase in demand for the company's products is expected in 2019. "Thanks to the use of microorganisms in agriculture, degraded soils are restored, erosion decreases, soil humus increases, the soil gets cleared from all pathogenic organisms and becomes fertile."
Besides, Alizade stressed that the bio-preparations produced by the company are included in the state program on increasing the production of organic fertilizers for 2019-2023, and on the other hand, intensive negotiations on the matter are currently underway with the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture.
"Presently, biotechnology is crucial not only in human life, but also in agriculture for restoration of degraded soils of which we have over three million hectares. We are the only company in Azerbaijan that is engaged in the restoration of ecology, agriculture and also degraded soils by using microorganisms," he added.
