Uzbekistan reorganizes its livestock industry

The State Veterinary Committee of Uzbekistan was reorganized into the State Veterinary and Livestock Committee, Trend reports with reference to the decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The Committee will implement a unified state policy in the field of veterinary medicine, animal husbandry and breeding.
The Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine and the Academic Lyceum that is under it, the Research Institute of Veterinary and Poultry, the Research Institute of Karakul breeding and desert ecology, the Research Institute of Fish Farming have been transferred to the committee.
Moreover, the committee will create a Fund for the development of veterinary services and animal husbandry, as well as the agency Uzbekchorvanasl.
Since January 1, 2020, veterinary and zootechnics will be introduced in farms with more than 100 livestock or 100,000 poultry. The livestock population in the population’s farms will be artificially fertilized by breeding bulls on the basis of a selection plan.
The governors of the regions will have to coordinate plans for placing forage crops with the territorial offices of the Uzbekchorvanasl Agency.
