Uzbekistan discussed the possibility of importing halal meat from Mongolia, Trend reports with reference to Montsame News Agency.
On June 21, Deputy Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia Zhanimkhany Saule received delegates of Uzbekistan led by the chairman of the state committee on veterinary medicine and livestock development of Uzbekistan Bahromjon Norkobilov.
At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Minister Saule gave a brief overview of the policy of the Government of Mongolia in the field of agriculture and light industry and stressed that Mongolia has wide opportunities for cooperation with Uzbekistan in many sectors.
In turn, the Uzbek delegation noted that during their stay in Mongolia, they got acquainted with pasture farming and visited several meat processing plants of Ulaanbaatar.
“The introduction of standards of halal slaughter at these enterprises creates opportunities for the export of meat to Uzbekistan,” the Uzbek delegation stated.
The parties agreed to continue implementing joint projects and programs to expand cooperation in the field of livestock and veterinary medicine, share experiences, and increase the volume of trade in livestock raw materials and products.
