Rice harvesting is being completed in Kerki, Darganata and Koytendag districts of the Lebap region of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.

In accordance with the established plan, 892 tons of rice were harvested from 190 hectares of land allocated for cultivation in Hojambaz district of the Lebap region this year.

This year in the Lebap region, 10,200 hectares were sown for rice, from which 47,400 tons of grain should be collected according to the plan.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas. Thus, earlier John Deere company delivered more cotton harvesting machines to Turkmenistan.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas will deliver brands special equipment for Turkmenistan.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
