Kazakhstan reports annual increase in production of gold, zinc ore

The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan has amounted to 45.8 million tons from January through December 2020, which is 1.3 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 3.8 million tons in Dec. 2020, which is 10.2 percent less than in Dec. 2019.

Production of copper ores dropped by 1 percent during the reporting months having amounted to 121.9 million tons (15.9 million tons in Dec. 2020, increase by 45.5 percent compared to the same month in 2019).

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 7.1 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates an increase of 6.8 percent compared to the same period of last year.

The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 571,100 tons in Dec. 2020, which is 26.9 percent less in Dec. 2019.

Production of gold ores amounted to 24.7 million tons over the reporting period, which is 0.3 percent less than during the same period of 2019. The volume of gold ores produced in Dec. 2020 was 2.1 million tons, which is 16.9 percent more than in Dec. 2019.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 6.6 million tons, which is 1.3 percent more than during the same period of 2019 (547,200 tons in Dec. 2020, decrease by 7.9 percent compared to Dec. 2019).

As reported, production of manganese ores amounted to 757,900 tons, which is 33.7 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (84,800 tons in Dec. 2020, increase by 2.1 times compared to Dec. 2019).

Production of chrome ores amounted to 6.3 million tons, which is 9.9 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (463,600 tons in Dec. 2020, a decrease by 20 percent compared to Dec. 2019).
