Building materials worth 718.9 million manat ($422.9 million) were produced in Azerbaijan in 2020, which is by 0.1 percent less than in 2019, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.
During the reporting period, the production volume of building gypsum amounted to 24,200 tons (growth by 64.6 percent), building bricks – to 499,300 cubic meters, indicating an increase of 10.5 percent, the production volume of ready-mixed concrete – 2.02 million tons, thus rising by 6.5 percent year on year.
Besides, the volume of production of processed marble, travertine, and alabaster, and their products made up 25,600 tons, decreasing by 35.7 percent, prefabricated concrete structures – 48,300 cubic meters, decreasing by 5.3 percent.
During the reporting period, the production of asphalt dropped by twofold, amounting to 177,000 tons, while cement production decreased by 7.5 percent and stood at 3.2 million tons.
Moreover, the production volume of building blocks and bricks made of cement, artificial stone, and concrete fell by 38.7 percent, making up 50,900 tons.
