Turkmenistan completes onion, potato sowing in Balkan region

The sowing of onions and potatoes has been completed in the Balkan region of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.

Onions were sown on 500 hectares of land, from which it is planned to harvest 12,500 tons. Meanwhile, potatoes are sown on 600 hectares, from which 8,400 tons of potatoes will be received according to the plan.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas.

Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas will deliver special equipment to Turkmenistan.

Agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
