Certain facilities put into operation in Iran's free trade, special economic zones

A number of facilities at a cost of more than 700 trillion rials (about $16.7 billion) were launched or foundation of them was laid in free trade and special economic zones in six provinces of Iran on June 21, Trend reports citing IRINN.

According to the report, 15 manufacturing enterprises and economic facilities worth 26.2 trillion rials (about $623 million) were launched in the Aras Free Trade - Industrial Zone of the East Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran).

“In addition, 11 economic and infrastructure facilities worth 2.25 trillion rials (about $53.5 million) were launched in the Arvand Free Trade Zone of Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran),” the report said.

At the same time, 15 manufacturing enterprises and infrastructure facilities worth 24.8 trillion rials (about $590 million ) were launched in the Qeshm Free Trade-Industrial Zone of Hormozgan Province (southern Iran). As well as, 9 facilities worth 19 trillion rials (about $452 million) and 11 million euro were launched in the Kish Free Trade Zone, the report said.

According to the report, a total of 920 people have been provided with jobs with the launch of these facilities.

“Moreover, the foundation of 8 facilities worth 17.7 trillion rials (about $421 million) was laid in the Aras Free Trade - Industrial Zone, 6 facilities worth 35.2 trillion rials (about $837 million) in the Arvand Free Trade Zone, 1 facility worth 4.3 trillion rials (about $102 million) in the Anzali Free Trade Zone and three facilities worth 462 trillion rials (about $11 billion) in the Chabahar Free Trade Zone,” the report said.

Also, the foundation of 14 facilities worth 73.2 trillion rials (about $1.74 billion) was laid in the Qeshm Free Trade-Industrial Zone, 10 facilities worth 35.8 trillion rials (about $852 million) in the Kish Free Trade Zone and 8 facilities worth 12.1 trillion rials (about $288 million) in the Maku Free Trade Zone.
