Iran, Kyrgystan to strengthen trade relations

TEHRAN, Iran, Nov. 15

Iran's Minister of Economy of Iran, Ehsan Khandouzi met with his Kyrgyzstani counterpart to discuss ways of expanding trade ties between the two countries, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

The Kyrgyz Minister of Economy and Trade, Daniyar Amangeldiyev, who headed a high-level economic delegation arrived in Tehran.

In this meeting, the two sides explored the trade capacities while discussing the North-South corridor, transportation of goods from Bandar Abbas port to the Caspian Sea, and visa issues.

Ehsan Khandozi addressed the unique capacities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of transportation of goods, especially from Bandar Abbas to the Caspian Sea, and the desire of Central Asian countries to facilitate the North-South corridor.

Referring to the need to develop economic and trade relations between the two countries, the Kyrgyz Minister also highlighted the desire of Central Asian countries to strengthen the North-South Corridor.

Amangeldiyev also pointed to Kyrgyzstan's membership and Iran's observer membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, noting the organization's capacity to develop trade relations between the two countries.
