Iran, Belarus to expand trade relations

TEHRAN, Iran, Nov. 23


Iran seeks to import Machinery and agricultural equipment from Belarus, said the Minister of Agricultural Jihad, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The Minister of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Javad Sadatinejad made the remark at a meeting with the Belarusian Ambassador to Tehran Dmitry Koltsov.

He pointed to Belarus's capacities in fisheries and agricultural equipment and machinery.

Iranian farmers were satisfied with the quality of Belarusian potash fertilizer, the Iranian Minister said.

The Minister of Agriculture Jihad stated that the sanctions made it impossible for Iran to import heavy tractors.

He expressed hope that these problems would be resolved by developing relations with Belarus.

Belarusian Ambassador to Tehran Dmitry Koltsov announced the resumption of exports of agricultural machinery, supplements, and veterinary medicine to Iran.

Belarus welcomed further increase of cooperation in all agricultural areas with Iran.

The ambassador expressed the country's readiness to import fruits, nuts, and vegetables from Iran, as well as Iranian tomato paste and sauces.
