BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 4. The number of licenses issued for the exploration of mines in Iran increased by about 6.7 percent, during the first 11 months of last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through February 19, 2022), compared to the same period preceding Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, a total of 950 licenses were issued in the country. Meanwhile in the period preceding Iranian year, the figure stood at 890 licenses.

“In addition, expenditures on mining exploration operations in the country for the first 11 months of last Iranian year increased by 199 percent, compared to the same period preceding Iranian year,” stated in the report.

Thus, about 3.9 trillion rials (about $92.8 million) has been spent on exploration operations in eleven months.

Meanwhile, in the same period preceding Iranian year, the figure amounted to 1.3 trillion rials (about $31 million).
