BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 2. Iran’s auto manufacturing increased by 20 percent, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, Trend reports.
Over 10 months, overall, 994,156 various cars were manufactured in the country, while in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 831,576.
Iran has manufactured 862,470 passenger cars within the mentioned period, which is an increase of 15 percent compared to 752,313 units in the same period last Iranian year.
At the same time, 100,836 pick-ups were manufactured in the country for 10 months. This is an increase of 51 percent compared to 66,778 units in the same period last Iranian year.
Furthermore, 2,784 vans were manufactured in Iran during the reporting period, which is an increase of 277 percent compared to 738 units in the same period last Iranian year.
Meanwhile, Iran manufactured 1,127 buses within ten months, which is 88 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year. So, 599 buses were manufactured in the country in the same period last Iranian year.
In 10 months, 849 minibuses were manufactured in the country, which is an increase of 11 percent compared to 766 units in the same period last Iranian year.
During the same period, Iran also manufactured 26,090 trucks and trailers. This shows a 151-percent increase compared to 10,382 units in the same period last Iranian year.
In general, there are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
