Iran releases data on annual non-oil exports via Khuzestan Province’s customs

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 4. In total, Iran exported approximately 17.6 million tons of non-oil products worth $6.58 billion through the customs of Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran), over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Customs Inspector of Khuzestan Province Behrouz Gharabeigi told ISNA, Trend reports.

According to him, the non-oil exports through the province’s customs for the reporting period did not change in value, while increasing by 7 percent in volume compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).

Gharabeigi noted that various petrochemical products, agricultural products, construction materials, and so on were the main exported goods through the province’s customs for the last Iranian year.

The official also added that the mentioned non-oil products were exported to various countries, mainly the UAE, Iraq, China, Türkiye, Russia, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

There are 11 customs offices in Iran’s Khuzestan Province. At the same time, Iran's Khuzestan Province has 7 ports of strategic importance from an economic point of view. The mentioned ports play key role in export, import and transit of the country.

Overall, Iran exported over 111 million tons of non-oil products worth $48.8 billion within the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through February 19, 2023). This is an increase of 12.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 1 percent in volume compared to the same period in the preceding Iranian year.
