Iran boasts exporting non-oil products worth over $400M last month

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2. As many as 1.35 million tons of non-oil products worth $404 million were exported through the customs of Iran’s Khuzestan Province in the south-west of the country, during the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), Customs Inspector of Khuzestan Province Behrouz Gharabeigi told ISNA, Trend reports.

The official said that the main exported non-oil products via the province’s customs for the 1st month were petrochemical products, agricultural products, steel, construction materials and etc.

Gharabeigi added that the mentioned goods were mainly exported to the UAE, Iraq, China, Türkiye, Russia, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

“Furthermore, 707,000 tons of goods worth $405 million were imported through the customs of the Khuzestan Province within the first month,” he noted.

Overall, Iran exported about 10.5 million tons of non-oil products worth approximately $3.65 billion for the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023).

This is a decrease of 12.9 percent in value, while an increase of 17.7 percent in volume compared to the same month in the last year.

Meanwhile, Iran imported 1.83 million tons of goods worth $3.08 billion for the 1st month. The imports decreased by 13 percent in value and 24.8 percent in volume compared to the same month in the last year.
