Value of Iran’s imports via Khuzestan Province’s customs declines

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 1. As many as 3.38 million tons of non-oil products worth approximately $2.93 billion were imported to Iran through the customs of Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran), during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2023), Customs Inspector of Khuzestan Province Behrouz Gharabeigi said, Trend reports.

The customs official noted that the import via the province’s customs for the reporting period has decreased in terms of both volume and value, but he did not mention the percentages.

Gharabeigi added that various types of equipment and raw materials were the main imported goods via the customs of Iran’s Khuzestan Province in 3 months.

According to him, the mentioned goods were mainly imported from China, the UAE and other countries.

Gharabeigi also pointed out that the province's customs revenues for 3 months amounted to approximately 55.9 trillion rials (about $1.33 billion), which is an increase of 155 percent compared to the same period in the last Iranian year.

In total, Iran imported 9.6 million tons of goods worth $14 billion within the first three months of the current Iranian year.

This is an increase of 5.79 percent in value and 1 percent in volume compared to the same period in the last year.
