BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 26. Iran’s local truck and trailer manufacturing increased by 43.6 percent in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared with the same time last year, Trend reports.
According to the data from the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade of Iran, a total of 18,847 trucks and trailers were manufactured in the country during the past six months.
In the same period last year, Iran’s domestic truck and trailer production stood at 13,124.
In the 6th month (August 23 through September 22, 2023), Iran manufactured 2,220 trucks and trailers countrywide, representing a 32.8 percent decrease compared with 3,304 units in the same month last Iranian year.
Overall, 34,136 trucks and trailers were manufactured in the country over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023). Iran’s domestic truck and trailer production increased by 150 percent compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
In total, 642,930 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks, trailers, and so on) were produced in Iran in the first half of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 22.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies, Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
