The Azneft Production Unit of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR ) in the first half-year produced 3.57 million tons of oil compared to the forecasted 3.5 million tons, Azneft executive director Dashgin Isgandarov's article published in "Xalq newspaper" says.
He said the plan for oil sales was exceeded by 0.5 percent, and 3.56 million tons of oil were handed over during the first half of the year.
As of July 1, there were 5,659 wells in the Azneft general fund, 5,548 of which were oil wells, while 111 were gas wells.
The operation fund includes 4,417 wells, 4,319 of which were oil wells and 98 gas wells. Inoperative wells hit 1,218 units, 1,207 of which were oil wells, and 11 of which were gas well.
Isgandarov said that currently there are 22 oil and two gas wells under development.
