The Trans-Caspian gas pipeline, which will supply the Turkmen gas to Europe, is still relevant for Brussels, Vice President of the European Commission Maros Sefcovic said in a video message to participants of the Energy Charter Forum in Ashgabat, a source in the event said.
The Southern Gas Corridor project was also discussed at the forum. One of the sessions was devoted to the diversification of supplies and routes for the European Union.
A new source supplying Caspian gas to Europe will appear by 2020 as a result of implementation of the unique Southern Gas Corridor project, said Joe Murphy, BP vice president for the Southern Gas Corridor. Murphy was implying the export of Azerbaijani gas.
