Oil transportation volumes between seaports of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan revealed

Some 137,600 tons of oil were transported from Kazakhstan’s Aktau sea port to Azerbaijani ports during first seven months of 2020, a representative of Kazakhstan’s Aktau port told Trend.

The port official noted that over 2,600 tons of grain and 6,300 were also transported from Kazakhstan’s Aktau port to Azerbaijani ports.

In turn, the volume of ferry cargo transported from Kazakhstan’s Aktau to Azerbaijan amounted to 1,900 tons during the reporting period.

The volume of other types of cargo transported between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan exceeded 122,800 tons, including 85,700 tons from Aktau and 37,000 tons to Aktau port.

A total of 234,200 tons of cargo were transported from Kazakhstan’s Aktau port to Azerbaijani ports, whereas 37,050 tons more were transported from Azerbaijani ports to port of Aktau.

Furthermore, over 85,700 tons of cargo were transported via containers between the ports, whereas 36,600 tons of cargo were transported to Aktau port.

Some 1,372 TEU of containers were also transported on the Aktau-Alat-Aktau feeder route in July 2020, whereas the transportation volume was 7,910 tons for first seven months of 2020.

Currently, there are three operating seaports in Kazakhstan: Aktau, Bautino and Kuryk.

Nowadays, Aktau International Commercial Sea Port is a modern multi-purpose terminal that allows the transportation of goods from East to West, from North to South and back 12 months a year and 24 hours a day.

Bautino сargo port is a division of Aktau International Commercial Sea Port, and is located in the village of Bautino (150 km from the city of Aktau), in the waters of the Bautino Bay of Tyubkaragansky Gulf.

Kuryk Port is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, south of Aktau city. The port has direct access to the railway. The ferry complex of the port is designed for transshipment of goods, including grain, petroleum products, fertilizers and chemicals.
