BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 23
By Klavdiya Romakayeva - Trend:
The Fergana Oil Refinery has reduced the cost of heating oil since November 20, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
Now the price per ton of such fuel is equal to four million soums ($385) if purchased directly from production, and 3.9 million soums ($380) when purchased from Uzbekneftegaz JSC oil depots.
The previous cost for the heating oil produced at the Fergana Oil Refinery amounted to 4.4 million soums ($423) per ton.
“This measure is aimed at providing support to the population of the country, as well as providing preschool and general education institutions, hospitals, and clinics using autonomous heating boilers,” the ministry noted.
Earlier, amid cutoffs from gas supply to entrepreneurs, the Ministry of Energy suggested that they switch to alternative energy sources, such as, for example, liquefied gas in cylinders. The ministry argued this restrictive measure by the need to redirect gas to facilities of social importance.
The shutdowns caused a wave of discontent and criticism of the ministry from business representatives, who argued for the high cost and hassle of re-equipment of production facilities and catering.
