Solar panel station in Fars Province to connect to Iran's electricity network

A 1-megawatt-hour solar panel station in the Sarvestan industrial town in the Fars Province (southern Iran) has been connected to Iran's electricity network, an official of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization of Iran, Ali Shabnavard said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.

The official noted that the Sarvestan solar panel station, which was launched in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2021), was installed on an area of 2,000 square meters.

Shabnavard added that the launch of this station prevented the spread of 1,370 tons of environmental pollutants annually and saved 437 cubic meters of water, also reduced the consumption of 564,000 cubic meters of natural gas per year.

“A total of 75 billion rials (about $1.78 million) has been spent on the installation of the station and five people have been employed,” he said.

As reported, the electricity generation capacity of renewable energy power plants in Iran's Fars Province is 73.7 megawatt-hours.
