Kazakhstan is ready to significantly increase the volume of imports of Turkmen gas, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said, Trend reports referring to press service of Kazakh president.
The statement was made following the talks between the delegations of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan at a joint briefing with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat.
"For more effective economic cooperation, the governments of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan have been instructed to accelerate the signing of an agreement on the encouragement and protection of investments. Great prospects open up a mutually beneficial partnership in the gas industry. In particular, Kazakhstan is ready to significantly increase imports of Turkmen gas," the statement says.
