Iran sees increase in oil exports from east ports of Hormozgan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 16

Iran’s exports of oil products from the east ports of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 203 percent from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to November 6, compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director of Shahid Bahonar Ports and Maritime Department, Hamid Reza Mohammad Hosseini said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

The director noted that over 294,000 tons of oil products were exported within the mentioned period.

Mohammad Hosseini also added that a total of 568,000 tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded in the east ports of Hormozgan Province over the reporting period, which is an increase of 77 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“About 321,000 tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded in the ports for cabotage during the specified period, which is more than 44 percent in the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

According to the director, about 5,260 ships docked at the east ports of Hormozgan Province within the mentioned period (from March 21, 2021 to November 6). This is an increase of 36 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
