BAKU. Azerbaijan. May 13. Azerbaijan’s electricity production exceeded 9.240 billion kWh from January through April 2022, or 3.3 percent higher as compared to the same period in 2021, the country’s energy minister Parviz Shahbazov wrote on Twitter, Trend reports.
The minister notes that 93 percent of the total electricity production accounted for thermal power plants, while the rest was generated by power plants on renewable energy.
The volume of electricity generation by hydropower plants, wind power plants, solar power plants and Solid Household Waste Plant stood at 492.6 million kWh, 32.2 million kWh, 18 million kWh and 76 million kWh, respectively.
Azerbaijan exported 518.6 million kWh of electricity, while imports totaled 40.7 million kWh.
