Kazakh banks' assets slightly up year-on-year

The total assets of second-tier banks in Kazakhstan have not changed over the last month and made up 24.5 trillion tenge at the end of October, Finprom.kz reported.

This is the highest figure for the year. The lowest total assets for the last year was recorded in May— 23.5 trillion tenge.

In the annual dynamics, the growth of total assets of second-tier banks resumed after last year's decline and made up 1.2 percent. In October last year, the volume of assets decreased to 24.3 trillion tenge.

It is worth noting that 21 of 28 Kazakh banks showed growth of assets year-to-year. First Heartland Bank leads in terms of growth – by 7.8 times, up to 176,7 billion tenge. The bank's share in the total assets of the country's banks increased from 0.1 to 0.7 percent.

Industrial and Commercial Bank of China is second – annual growth of 2.5 times, to 192.8 billion tenge. The bank's share rose from 0.3 to 0.8 percent.

Shinhan Bank is on the 3rd place in terms of annual asset growth – by 78.3 percent, to 48.2 billion tenge. It’s share in banks’ total assets increased from 0.1 to 0.2 percent.
