Georgia intends to improve public transport

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Tbilisi City Hall will purchase 100 new buses in 2020, said Mayor Kakha Kaladze at a Tbilisi city government session, Trend reports via Georgian media outlets.

“The municipality purchased 145 buses a few years ago. Since that time we also bought 310 more new, modern buses. We have already begun to deliver these buses. They will appear in Tbilisi streets by the end of the year”, said Kaladze.

Speaking about municipal transport, Kaladze noted that the main aim of the transport policy is to increase the number of buses moving on each line and reduce waiting times.

Sixty new Isuzu buses were delivered by Tbilisi Transport Company on October 9.

Buses are equipped with Wi-Fi, modern heating and air conditioning systems, as well as cameras.

The mayor is confident that the acquisition of additional buses will improve the quality of public transport in the capital.
