Turkmenistan and the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) considered the possibilities of providing financial, consulting and technical support to small and medium-sized businesses, primarily in the field of creating high-tech industries in various sectors of the national economy, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.
The talks were held during a videoconference of representatives of Turkmenistan with DFC.
The Turkmen side offered DFC to participate in the project on the creation of the International Investment Fund of Turkmenistan, conducted by the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan.
In this regard, it was emphasized that the innovative component of the economic reforms implemented in the country, the favorable investment climate contribute to the development of constructive and fruitful cooperation with foreign companies and financial institutions.
In addition, the sides confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness for substantive consideration of issues related to the creation of the Central Asian Development Fund (C5 Fund), which is designed to promote the implementation of projects and programs relevant to the region, including the development of industrial and transport infrastructure, agriculture and other industries.
The State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan is created an Investment Fund. The Fund was expected to be created with participation of foreign companies in order to attract investments for financing new projects in the country.
Based on the international tender for the feasibility study and business plan preparation in December 2017, a contract was signed with Baker Tilly Rus Consulting JSC (Russia).
