Central Bank of Iran shares data on loans issued in trade sector

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 23. Iranian banks issued loans worth 2.92 quadrillion rials (about $69.5 billion) in the country’s trade sector, during the first 11 months of the previous Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), Trend reports via the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, loans worth approximately 114 trillion rials (about $2.73 billion) were issued in connection with the establishment of enterprises and other opportunities in the trade sector in 11 months.

"Also, approximately 2.55 quadrillion rials (about $48.8 billion) worth of loans were issued in the trade sector as working capital for the reporting period," the statistics said.

At the same time, Iranian banks issued loans worth 191 trillion rials (about $4.54 billion) for the development of enterprises and 7.55 trillion rials ($180 million) for self-employment in the trade sector within 11 months.

In addition, 11.9 trillion rials (about $284 million) worth of loans were issued for the purchase of housings, 504 billion rials (about $12 million) for repair work, and 47.7 trillion rials (about $1.14 billion) for the purchase of personal assets in the trade sector.

Overall, the Iranian banks issued loans worth approximately 36.7 quadrillion rials (about $874 billion) in various economic sectors in the country during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year.
