BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. Azerbaijani Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov will discuss the Black Sea Energy project in Bucharest during the eighth ministerial session on the project, Trend reports via the Energy Ministry of Azerbaijan.
"At the invitation of Romania's Minister of Energy Sebastian Burduja, a delegation from Azerbaijan led by Shahbazov has left for Bucharest. On September 3, alongside colleagues from Romania, Georgia, and Hungary, they will discuss the project for the development and transmission of future green energy from Azerbaijan through Georgia and the Black Sea to Europe.
The parties have a strategic partnership agreement for this project and will hold the eighth meeting on it," the ministry said.
The discussion is all about the potential of sending energy from Azerbaijan's upcoming offshore wind farms to the EU through an electric cable that will be laid along the seabed of the Black Sea.
The export is planned to start with two GW, with potential for growth.
