Attacks on information systems of Azerbaijani state agencies increase

In June 2018, the number of requests from Azerbaijani state agencies related to computer security increased by 54.4 percent compared to May and amounted to 363, the Computer Security Emergency Response Team (CERT) under the Special Communication and Information Security State Agency of Special State Protection Service of Azerbaijan told Trend.

In June, 87.8 percent of the total number of requests received by CERT were reviewed and dealt with. On the basis of the audit of information security, three reports were prepared by CERT and sent to the relevant structures.

According to CERT, three domains and five sub-domains were registered in the Azerbaijani segment of the internet last month.

The total number of requests related to computer security amounted to 1,538 in January-June 2018, which is 71.4 percent more than in the same period of 2017.

In January-June 2018, 89 percent of the total number of requests were considered and dealt with. During this period, 86 reports were prepared and sent to the relevant structures on the basis of the completed audit of the information security.

In January-June, 17 domains and 15 sub-domains were registered in the Azerbaijani segment of the internet, which are usually used by organizations to create unique site names for their departments or services.
