The Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan and the administration of the Jizzakh region signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of scientific and innovative activities in the region, Trend reports referring to the information service of the ministry.
According to the document, joint measures will be taken in the region to establish, develop, and deepen cooperation in the field of science, technology, research, development, and innovation.
The parties will conduct scientific and practical research, introduce innovative developments into practice, and develop the innovative activity of the population and business entities.
In addition, for the first time in the country, a department for the development of scientific and innovative activities will be created under the administration of the Jizzakh region in order to increase scientific and innovative activity in the region.
The agreement also provides for the implementation of joint training and research programs for the creation and development of resource-saving technologies.
Earlier it was reported that the Jizzakh region will show an example of the introduction of drip irrigation in Uzbekistan. According to forecast estimates, drip irrigation in the region in the coming 2021 will occupy 41,400 hectares - 20 percent of the total drip wedge in the country. Of these, 27,600 hectares are cotton, 7,200 hectares - orchards, 7,400 hectares - vineyards.
