The output in metallurgy increased in 1Q2016 in Kazakhstan, the Statistics Committee of the country's National Economy Ministry said Apr. 15.
Crude steel production increased by 10.2 percent - up to 982,080 tons in January-March, flat bar production - by 7.9 percent - up to 639,280 tons, raw zinc production - by 1.4 percent - up to 81,210 tons, refined raw copper production - by 5.3 percent - up to 99,710 tons, raw aluminum and alumina production - by 5 percent - up to 431,180 tons.
The ferroalloy production decreased by 1.8 percent - to 443,050 tons during the reporting period.
Kazakhstan's iron ore production decreased by 35.1 percent - to 7,92 million tons in January-March 2016 as compared to the same period of 2015. Copper ore production increased by 77.7 percent - up to 15,28 million tons during the reporting period.
