BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 9. Kazakhstan’s mining and metallurgical sector accounts for 8.5 percent of the total GDP of Kazakhstan, Marat Karabayev, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan, said, Trend report citing the press service of the Prime Minister.
Speaking at the Council of Domestic Entrepreneurs chaired by the Prime Minister, Karabayev added that 19 new investment projects have been concluded in this sector in 2022.
The total value of the projects amounted to 232 billion Kazakh tenge ($501.5 million), and 3,500 workplaces have been created in the process.
The overall value of the goods manufactured in this sector accounted for 11.4 trillion Kazakh tenge ($24.64 billion), which constitutes a 17 percent growth.
Meanwhile, fixed capital investments increased by 14.8 percent and exceeded 1 trillion Kazakh tenge ($2.1 billion).
