ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 12. According to preliminary figures, Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover totaled $55.8 billion from January through May 2023, the country's Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantyrov said at a government meeting, Trend reports.
This figure is 8 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year ($51.3 billion).
As the minister noted, the country's exports amounted to $31.6 billion (against $34.2 billion from January through May 2022), with processed goods exports experiencing a notable growth of 3.8 percent, amounting to $10.2 billion.
Furthermore, in terms of Kazakhstan's imports, this figure amounted to $24.2 billion from January through May 2023 (against $17.1 billion).
As a result, in the reporting period, the balance of foreign trade turnover remained positive totaling $7.4 billion.
In 2022, Kazakhstan's trade turnover amounted to $134.4 billion.
