BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15. Kyrgyzstan significantly increased exports to Russia from January through May 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the committee, Kyrgyzstan's exports to Russia in the first five months of 2022 amounted to $230.4 million, which is an increase of 43.5 percent compared to the same period of 2021 ($160.5 million).

The main export commodities to Russia from January through May 2022 were:

- copper ($44.4 million);

- clothes ($41.1 million);

- fruits and nuts ($14 million);

- vegetables ($12.5 million);

- dried fruits ($11.4 million).

Russia's exports to Kyrgyzstan in the reporting period amounted to $823.7 million, which is 16.9 percent more than in the corresponding period of last year ($704.4 million).

Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Russia from January through May 2022 totaled $1 billion, which is an increase of 15.6 percent compared to the same period in 2021 ($865 million).
