Value of industrial production increases in Kyrgyzstan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. The value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan from January through April 2023 amounted to $1.4 billion, which is a 4-percent increase year-on-year, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

The growth was mainly driven by increase in production of chemicals – by 32 percent, in textile industry, production of clothing and footwear, leather and leather products – by 19.3 percent, and in wood and paper products and printing materials – by 18.4 percent.

At the same time, the production of rubber, plastic products and building materials rose by 16.3 percent, of mining industry – by 12.7 percent.

The little increase was registered in the manufacturing of food, tobacco products and drinks – by 5.5 percent, and base metals – by1 percent.

Meanwhile, the decrease of 1 percent was registered in the manufacturing of petroleum oil products.

According to the report, the value of electricity, gas and steam supply in the reporting period increased by 0.6 percent. Decrease in the water supply, processing and disposal of waste and the production of secondary raw materials amounted to 41.4 percent.
