BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. Tajikistan’s largest hydropower plant continues getting support from the World Bank, Trend reports referring to the World Bank.

Minister of Finance of Tajikistan Faiziddin Qahhorzoda and Representative of the World Bank Ozan Sevimli signed additional grant financing for the second phase of the Nurek Hydropower Rehabilitation Project in the amount of $65 million.

International Development Association (IDA) a group of World Bank had already invested $226 million in 2017, $56.6 million of which was an IDA grant and $169 million as concessional credit.

Furthermore, the World Bank’s initiative is projected to expand the scale of Tajikistan's "green" electricity exports while also improving the reliability of the electricity supply.
