The Majlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan adopted a decree to schedule elections of members of the gengesh, which is the local self-government body. According to this document, elections are scheduled for Sunday, Aug.19, 2012.
According to another decree of parliament, the election of the Mejlis members in two constituencies, No. 26 in the Akhal region and No.99 in the Mary region will be held on the same date.
These documents are being adopted at the fourteenth session of the Turkmen Parliament of the fourth convocation.
