Turkmenistan’s state concern Turkmenoil (Turkmennebit) is using ZJ70 DB rig, produced in China, to drill an exploration well in the Caspian sector of the country, the ‘Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan’ online newspaper reports.
This is Turkmenistan’s first ultra-deep exploration well, and its project depth is 7,150 meters, according to the report.
In order to find new hydrocarbon deposits, Turkmenoil continues drilling at the lower redbeds of the Uzynada prospective area, located in the southwest of Turkmenistan, and has already reached a depth of 6,400 meters.
