Ashgabat sets up commission for creation of mudflow diversion channels

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, Dec. 21

By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

A commission has been set up in Turkmenistan to prepare the appropriate proposals for the creation of the mudflow diversion channels in southern Ashgabat, Trend reports referring to national Altyn Asyr TV channel.

The commission includes representatives of Ashgabat’s administration, the Turkmen Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection, the State Committee for Water Management, the Academy of Sciences and other relevant structures.

Earlier, this issue was raised at a meeting of the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers. Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded to thoroughly inspect the diversion channels and analyze them from an environmental point of view.

Russia's Vozrozhdenie company has recently prepared a project of a complex of mudflow diversion channels. Head of the company Igor Bukato presented this project to the president.

The head of state stressed the importance of this complex for ensuring the smooth functioning of all city systems and its environmental well-being.

The Vozrozhdenie company has been operating in the Turkmen market since 2009. It has set up asphalt plants, concrete mixing facilities, a quarry for the extraction and production of inert materials with a monthly shipment of products up to 150,000 cubic meters and other facilities to implement the projects in Turkmenistan.
