BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct.16

By Farida Nuri – Trend:

Turkmenistan purchases agricultural machinery adapted to the country's natural and climatic characteristics from well-known foreign manufacturers, Trend reports with reference to the ORIENT information portal.

According to the information, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the German John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co. KG in 2019 signed a memorandum of understanding for the implementation of a digital electronic control system in agricultural machinery and equipment within 10 years (from 2020 to 2030).

During the same period, the Turkmen ministry adopted the concept of a three-stage transfer to a telematic digital system for managing agricultural machinery in all regions of the country in the period 2019-2022.

According to the document, previously acquired from John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co. KG agricultural machinery is also being re-equipped with telematics, which allows using the Internet to determine its location, fuel consumption, real operating time and other parameters.

It is noted that agriculture in Turkmenistan is one of the most important sectors of the economy. The main types of crops grown in the country are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beets, fodder, vegetables, melons, fruit, and berry crops.
